Metal Squid Shirt

$25.00
sold out

Humboldt Squid, sometimes known as diablo rojo or “red devils” (scientific name: Dosidicus gigas) are easily the most metal squid.

They grow up to 6ft long, congregate in groups of up to 1600 individuals, are not only extremely curious, but also cannibalistic and aggressive. To make matters worse they have teeth rings around their suckers. Yes, TEETH rings. Unbelievably scary, they are also unbelievably smart, having a complex language of red and white flashes to communicate within their squad. Really, cephalopods are never caught slackin if you haven’t learned by now.

I’m really not someone who is scared of the ocean (thankfully as a marine biologist). But I would not square up with a Humboldt Squid. They have earned their name Diablo Rojo and have hence earned themselves a heavy metal t-shirt too.
